The Lockport branch serves the Counties of Eastern Niagara, Western Orleans and Northern Erie. The Historic Erie Canal transverses the area. Of the 338 miles of canal between the Hudson and Niagara Rivers, this region host the only hand cut Medina sandstone culvert road that runs under the canal, the only operating aqueduct and a lock system that raises and lowers boaters over a 60’ high escarpment.
